Marieke Akerboom

Circular Cities Manager

Marieke received her master’s degree in Geo-Science and Remote Sensing from Delft University of Technology and Imperial College London in 2016 with a specialisation in weather radars & wastewater engineering. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from TU Delft.

Prior to joining Worn Again Technologies, Marieke had been working as a management consultant at A.T. Kearney, where she mainly covered global transformation projects in a variety of industries across Europe and the Middle East. Marieke has also worked in the FMCG industry as part of the Corporate Strategy Team of the beverage company William Grant & Sons. Marieke has a wide range of project management & delivery experience and in her role as Circular Cities Manager she will bring great enthusiasm to realise our long-term vision and build the rollout model for our global cities

Next to work, Marieke loves her jumpsuits, random adventures, friends, good coffee and… knitting – the chunkier the wool, the better! She is also passionate about hiking and being in nature and will try everything she can to deliver a healthy world to the next generations.
